Support That Starts With You
Pregnancy can bring excitement and anticipation, but it can also bring uncertainty, anxiety, or memories of previous experiences.
At Roots & Wings Birthing, I offer calm, compassionate and trauma-informed doula support, with choice, consent and emotional safety at the heart of my approach.
Whether you're preparing for your first birth, navigating pregnancy after loss, carrying difficult experiences from a previous birth, or simply looking for someone who will listen without judgement, you don't have to navigate it alone.
I'll walk alongside you with evidence-based information, practical and emotional support, and space to make the choices that feel right for you.

What is a Doula?
A doula provides continuous emotional, practical and informational support throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period.
Unlike your midwife or obstetric team, a doula doesn't provide clinical care.
I'm there for you, to listen, help you prepare, explore your options and provide a familiar, reassuring presence throughout your journey.
My approach is trauma-informed and centred around you. I'll support your choices without judgement and help create space for you to feel heard and involved in your care.
Whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth or birth centre birth or your plans change along the way, you don't have to navigate it alone.
My Approach

As a trauma-informed doula, I believe there is no single “right” way to give birth. What matters to me is that you feel safe, heard and supported throughout your experience.
My role is not to direct your journey, but to walk alongside you.
I provide evidence-based information, emotional support and a calm, reassuring presence, helping you understand your options and make the choices that feel right for you and your family.
To me, compassionate care means listening without judgement, honouring your experiences, respecting your choices and creating a space where you feel safe and supported.
I want you to feel that your voice matters and that you are an active part of the decisions surrounding your care.
I have a particular interest in supporting families through pregnancy after loss, where joy and hope can exist alongside fear, grief and uncertainty. Whatever you're feeling, there is space for it.
However your birth unfolds, my hope is that you look back and feel that you were listened to, respected and cared for.
It would be a privilege to support you as you prepare to welcome your baby into the world.
Support Overview
Birth Support
As your birth doula, I'll be by your side through every stage of your labour and birth, wherever you choose to bring your baby into the world, whether that's at home, in a birth centre, or in hospital. My role is to offer continuous, compassionate birth support that helps you feel safe, confident, and genuinely cared for, every step of the way.
Postnatal Support
The postnatal period is one of the most beautiful, emotional, and exhausting chapters of your life. You're recovering from birth, getting to know your new baby, navigating feeding, adjusting to broken sleep, and trying to find your footing, all at the same time. It's a lot, and it's completely normal to need support.
Night Support
Sleep deprivation can be one of the hardest parts of those early weeks. As your night doula, I'll take care of your baby overnight so you can get the rest you need. Whether you're breastfeeding or bottle feeding, I'll handle the night feeds, nappy changes, settling, and everything in between.
